What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique. Specifically, it’s a high-vibrational energy that is channeled through a practitioner into the recipient to promote deep relaxation and stress reduction.

How does Reiki actually work?

Reiki is based on the idea that “chi,” or “life force energy,” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. On the other hand, if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. 

Reiki has a divine intelligence and channels this specific life force energy from the practitioner to the recipient, bringing them back into a state of balance.

What are the benefits of Reiki?

Studies suggest that Reiki has positive effects on pain, anxiety, and quality of life. It can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance overall wellbeing. It is often used to complement conventional medical treatments and helps manage symptoms of various conditions, such as pain, anxiety, and fatigue.

What can I expect during a Reiki session?

We begin with a short intake and discussion to understand where you feel out of balance, whether that’s on a physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual level. You’ll also have a chance to share anything else you’d like me to know before we get started.

Next, you will lie fully clothed on a flat, comfortable surface. I will place my hands lightly on your body, allowing the Reiki energy to flow. You may feel sensations such as warmth, tingling, and deep relaxation as the energy clears energetic blocks in your space and restores you to calm and balance. Some clients also report feeling a “waterfall” of energy move through their body. Whatever you feel or experience, it’s perfectly right for you.

Afterward, we will have another short discussion to discover and integrate what you experienced. I’ll also share any nuggets of intuitive guidance that come through for you to help you along your healing journey. Generally speaking, clients walk away feeling lighter, more balanced, and energized. 

How do distance Reiki healing sessions work?

Distance Reiki sessions are conducted remotely, with me sending Reiki energy to you wherever you are. Both types of sessions are equally effective. 

First, we will connect on the phone for the discussion portions of our time together. During the Reiki healing part of the session, we will disconnect from the phone while you lay down comfortably in your own space. I will encourage you to create a peaceful environment no matter where you are with an eye pillow and calming music. We will conclude similar to the in-person sessions.

How often should I receive Reiki?

The frequency of Reiki sessions can vary depending on your individual needs and goals. Some people benefit from regular sessions, such as once a week or once a month, while others may choose to receive Reiki on an as-needed basis. Discounted packages are available in 4 or 6-packs. How can I get the most out of my Reiki Healing Session?

To get the most out of our time together, there’s nothing you need to “do.” It’s more about your state of being. It can be helpful to approach it with an open mind and heart, with a willingness to relax and receive the energy. 

There is no prerequisite for receiving Reiki. The most important thing is to show up exactly as you are and remain open to this powerful healing modality. The more open you are to receiving, the more you will maximize your healing potential. By taking the time to invest in your own self-care, you’re able to show up for others tenfold.
